About

The art of corn dolly-making is an ancient and endangered heritage craft deeply rooted in rural life. Harvest tokens or trophies were traditionally made from the last sheaf of wheat to hold the ‘spirit of the harvest’ through the winter until they were ploughed into the first furrow of the new season.

Straw work has been in my family since the 1950s. My Granny, Jean Duffin, made and taught the craft, followed by my Mum - and now me!

As well as my online shop, I sell at various markets and shows. Keep an eye on my Instagram @braidedgrain for updates.
